Auto Sales and Satellite Radio
Satellite radio is growing in the automotive word. The image to the left shows the sales figures for each auto manufacturer, their market share for the year to date, and their respective satellite radio partner.
A few items are important to note:
1. This data represents OEM sales figures and not installations of satellite radios.
2. The realationships vary depending on the manufacturer. For example, Toyota and Nissan have a factory install program with XM and a port/dealer install program with Sirius. Thus they are categorized as "both".
3. Some manufactures have not ramped up satellite radio installions to the same extent as others. GM, Honda, DCX and Ford have more extensive installs.
