The Chicago Tribune, Aug 4, 2006

NASCAR straps into the driver's seat for production of `Talladega Nights'Terry ArmourAugust 4 2006NASCAR is serious business. Will Ferrell is the poster child for funny business. NASCAR remains the country's fastest-growing sport, second only to professional football when it comes to television viewers. Ferrell remains one of the country's biggest goofballs, thanks to films such as "Old School" and "Anchorman."Neither really needs the other to survive in their respective worlds. "I look at it as a positive. NASCAR may be big but we still have a long way to go. In Chicago, alone, it's still not a big sport. This follows the concept that maybe someone who goes to see the movie finds it fun and says, `Maybe I will go to a NASCAR race. That's the whole concept and goal of NASCAR, to find new fans. Hopefully, the movie creates a buzz and becomes part of that strategy." Read more: HERE
