SSG Takes a Look at RF Monolithics
April 7, 2007
Satellite Standard Group (SSG) likes to point out some of the companies that have relationships with the SDARS services, and do a small profile on them. These companies may present an investment opportunity that some may not have been aware of, or simply have not yet considered. If you believe in the Satellite Radio sector and concept, you should give consideration to the other companies that make satellite radio possible. If nothing else, it is good background information to keep you informed on satellite radio happenings. Today SSG take a closer look at
RF Monolithics.
RF Monolithics (symbol RFMI) was founded in 1979 and is headquartered in Dallas Texas. RFMI is a leading edge designer, developer, manufacturer and supplier of radio frequency wireless solutions. The President and CEO is David M. Kirk.
The tie between RFM and satellite radio is that RFM is responsible for some of the components that wind up allowing fans of Sirius satellite Radio and XM satellite Radio to hear the diverse content offerings of the services.
In RFM literature they point out some key components of why RFM wants to remain in this sector.
1. RFM develops multiple custom IF products for the satellite radio receiver market.
2. RFM filers represent state of the art SAW design and the desired filtering solutions for satellite radio receivers.
3. RFM filters are small and allow for the satellite radio receivers to reduce size while at the same time employing superior electrical characteristics.
4. RFM is a supplier to both Sirius and XM, and is working with OEM partners of both companies to develop state of the art components for the satellite radio aspect of the OEM lines.
The business of RFM does not stop with Sirius and XM. In fact, it is this aspect of this company that may make it appealing to those currently invested in the SDARS equities. RFM has a whole portfolio of products and clients that make derivative SDARS play quite compelling. RFM products include:
