XM SureConnect Update
XM SureConnect Details and Info(via orbitcast.com)
XM Satellite Radio has released information to retailers about their
next-generation FM modulator, which has been given the marketing name of XM SureConnect. To the right is a photo of the connector clip showing the actual size next to a penny.
One of the benefits of XM SureConnect is improved sound-quality. Since the XM SureConnect clip is directly attached to the antenna, there's less chance for interference. So while the difficulty of installation is increased, at least it's at the benefit of sound-quality.
There is a downside though, SureConnect isn't compatable with a retractable "whip" antenna (~2% of cars), or with roof-based antennas (~<1% of cars). In those cases, a hardwired install is necessary.
