There is a lot of speculation regarding why people are experiencing service outages today with XM satellite radio.
Rumors that it is anything from a software update to a satellite being down are making their way around the internet, yet it appears that there has been no official statement from XM Satellite Radio. Users who have ways of determining what type of signal they are receiving seem to report that they are only getting a signal from one satellite (Satellite #2), and are also not getting any terrestrial signal.
Fan sites such as XM411.com are buzzing with various reports from various locations.
Until something concrete is stated by XM, readers should take all reports as rumor at this point.
