MARKET TALK: XM-Sirius Merger Should Go Through

Despite Congressional hearings into the matter, the merger of XM Satellite (XMSR) and Sirius (SIRI) should go through, Oppenheimer's Thomas Eagan says. The issues raised at the hearing - from effects on local programmingto defining the radio market - "did not seem to hamper the possibility for amerger, in our opinion," he says. "We believe if addressed with plausible regulation and enforcement, the FCC and DoJ would be willing to approve the merger." (PJV)
