As the latest Arbitron ratings are digested, Opie & Anthony are finding a dilemma as listening drops off on terrestrial radio when their program ends at 9 a.m., dragging down numbers for the traditional 6 a.m. - 10 a.m. morning drive daypart. "I look at the numbers and I know its higher," said Anthony. "Then you look at [the midday show] and that's a quarter of our ratings right there."
At O&A's CBS Radio flagship station, WFNY/New York, there has been growing tension with the show that follows them, JV & Elvis. The latest ratings results aren't going to help mend the rift as there is over a 50% drop off during the 9 a.m. - 10 a.m. hour.
