Maxim Gets Even More Digital

April 18, 2006

Satellite Standard Group (SSG) likes to keep you up to speed with the happenings that have an effect on the satellite radio world. We recently saw an article that relates to Sirius Satellite Radio’s content partner Maxim.

Maxim has embraced the digital age. They already have a channel on Sirius that carries original and compelling content. You can learn more about Maxim's Sirius Channel by clicking here.

Maxim, according to an a AdAge article by Nat Ives, seems to have taken the next step by making their magazine available on cell phones. This is an excerpt from the piece:

“…For Maxim, which already operates a sprawling digital platform, multiplying print's force meant making its May issue the inaugural "Maxim Mobile" edition. An editor's letter in the issue, which goes on sale April 25, urges readers to consume the issue with cell phones in hand and to enter contests and submit content whenever they see a "Maxim Mobile" icon.”

With the digital platform rapidly changing, it is only a matter of time before satellite radio begins to cash in on such initiatives, and is perhaps the biggest reason why satellite radio is pursuing content deals such as Maxim and Cosmo, as well as deals with cell phone carries such as Sprint.
