A Shift In Strategy
March 12, 2007
We have been saying for quite some time that perhaps terrestrial radio stations need to look at their business model and update it to match the times, and the competition. The old business model of flooding the consumer with advertising, up to 20 minutes per hour, worked well when the consumer had no other choice.
Now, with competition happening from various fronts, it appears that some terrestrial radio stations are beginning to understand that changes need to happen.
"The Minnesota Twins are moving their games to Hubbard’s KSTP-AM and shaving the number of in-game live-reads from 28 to 20. And the between-innings spot breaks will be trimmed to avoid missing the first pitch of the new inning."
Imagine that......a broadcast that does not miss parts of the game because of advertising!!!!
