Satellite Radio Expanding To Europe

Satellite Radio Coming To Europe By 2010

Two companies are planning to bring satellite radio to Europe by 2010. WorldSpace, a U.S. satellite radio company, is already planning to launch a service in Italy in 2007, with plans to expand to other countries. Spanish company Ondas Media is aiming for a 2010 launch throughout Europe, according to the BBC.
"We'll have a mix of a wide variety of music genres," Torsten Freymark, chairman of Ondas Media, told the BBC. "Jazz, classical, oldies rock, house, country - whatever people's listening habits are, we'll do it." He added that the company is in talks with car manufacturers for in-vehicle receivers.
