Sirius Ivy League Football Broadcasts Begin On Saturday

For the second straight season, SIRIUS Satellite Radio will broadcast an Ivy League football 'Game of the Week,’ re-transmitting institutional broadcasts across the country.

The first broadcast of the season will be this Saturday (Sept. 16), as the Harvard Crimson -- picked as the League's preseason favorite by the media -- hosts Holy Cross, coached by former Ivy Player of the Year Tom Gilmore.“As we celebrate the Ivy League’s 50th anniversary this year, we’re very pleased to again have the national exposure that our SIRIUS partnership provides for Ivy alumni and fans,” said Ivy League Executive Director Jeff Orleans. “And we’re delighted that basketball broadcasts again will follow this winter.”Each school will have at least two football broadcasts on the nationwide satellite radio provider. The September 30 broadcast will highlight that 50th anniversary in a pre-game ceremony at the Princeton-Columbia matchup at Wien Stadium/Baker Field in Manhattan.
