RIAA Gets Some Bad Press

August 15, 2006

According to guys over at Gizmodo the RIAA has dropped what can only be termed some foolish idea by the RIAA.

Fans of satellite radio do not carry a great fondness for the recording idustry association at this time, and many critical comments cast at the RIAA are likely rightly done. The organization seems to have stood by idle as technology passed them by. Their business of free songs to terrestrial radio is a business plan that can no longer function, so they seem bent on getting as many nickles out of satellite and internet radio as they can. What they seem to fail to realize is that satellite radio likely gives them more money than any other medium.

From Gizmodo

....."When the RIAA sued the children of a dead man accused of infringement, the hapless organization was met with outrage from all sides. Now the RIAA has backed off that idea, issuing a statement: "Out of an abundance of sensitivity, we have elected to drop this particular case."

The whole bizzare story can be read at Gizmodo HERE
