Samsung Helix (XM)The Helix is the grand new daddy of all portable XM players. It stores up to 50 hours of audio, and receives a signal just about anywhere outdoors. Its full-color screen displays the user's playlist and 170 XM channels of music, news, talk, sports and weather. Thanks to a partnership between XM and Napster, listeners on all the XM devices can plug their player into the computer, and link directly from a favorite song in their personal playbook to the Napster Web site, where they can make a purchase. Because recorded XM content can't be transferred to another device or retained if the radio subscription is cancelled, buying through Napster makes sense.www.incentiveconcepts.com

Pioneer Inno (XM)Pioneer Electronics' Inno came out this spring, shortly before the Samsung Helix. The two are very similar in function and design, with the Inno being slightly more colorful. Those who need bulk orders should be aware that Pioneer has no special markets department and does not outsource fulfillment to a third party.http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/.

Samsung Nexus (XM)Though lighter than the Helix, the Nexus (2.6 grams, compared to 4.5) has one obvious drawback: It receives an XM signal only when plugged into its docking cradle. Whatever listeners want to hear while jogging or lying on the beach, they'll need to record while they're at home or in the car. But The Nexus' price point is appropriately lower, and it comes with a removable memory card that users can insert into other XM devices.http://www.incentiveconcepts.com/

Sirius S50The top-of-the-line portable player for the Howard Stern set is the Sirius S50. Like the Helix and Inno, it has a full-color display. It can store up to 50 hours of content, but like the Nexus, it receives a signal only when set in its home or cardocking cradle. And at 6.5 ounces, it is slightly more cumbersome than the Helix. The S50 makes most sense for a listener who's already devoted to Sirius.www.gopremco.com
