Delphi Announces Deal with GM
June 17, 2006
Delphi has now announced a deal with General Motors. The deal is a buyout deal for hourly workers. Delphi announced the agreement with the International Union of Electronic Workers-Communications Workers of America and GM, Delphi's former parent and its largest customer, late Friday.
This second deal should ease perceived pressures on the Delphi situation, and in turn ease concerns of a Delphi strike effecting GM production.
XM Satellite Radio and holders of the equity should welcome the news as a nice positive.
