Auto Manufacturers Ramp up to Promote Satellite Radio

We are seeing increased promotion of satellite radio in the marketing of cars. Are the auto manufacturer's catching on? As Gary Parsons noted in his presentation at the Sanford Bernstein conference (link: here) manufacturers wait for confirmed consumer demand, and then they start the real push!

Toyota & XM Canada Offering Free 6-month Satellite Radio Service
Here's an interesting deal. XM Canada and Toyota Canada announced their
multi-year agreement today, offering XM Canada to select Toyota and Lexus vehicles.
Under the agreement, XM Canada will offer free activation plus 3-months of free satellite radio service. An additional 3-months is then matched by Toyota Canada, providing a full trial period of 6-months to the customer.

Satellite Standard Group keeps you informed. Mercury Mountaineer sales jumped 30% year-over-year in May.While the SUV market was soft in general, this particular model had a substantial increase in sales.Mercury ran a promotion in May that among other things included Sirius Satellite Radio for three years.The success of this promotion, which included Sirius, may well lead to further marketing promotions on other Ford branded models.There are some other interesting aspects of Ford's sales in May that are worth noting.
