FTC Will Conduct Antitrust Review Of Google-DoubleClick Deal

The Federal Trade Commission will conduct the government antitrust review of
Google Inc.'s proposed $3.1 billion purchase of Internet advertising-services company DoubleClick Inc., according to a person familiar with the matter.
The FTC Friday made a so-called "second request" of Google, based in Mountain View, Calif., for additional information to assess any possible overlapping lines of business, this person said.
The issuance of a second request is a signal that the FTC is taking a hard look at the deal, as was expected. It doesn't mean the deal will be blocked; most such reviews end without action...read more:
