XM Misses Year-End Sub Forecast; Turns Cash Flow Positive; Is Sirius Merger Becoming More Likely?

XM Satellite Radio
(XMSR) today reported that
it finished the year with 7.625 million subscribers, coming up a little shy of its previous guidance of 7.7 million to 7.9 million. The company added 1.695 million subscribers in 2006, including 442,000 in the fourth quarter.
The company also said it had positive cash flow from operations in the fourth quarter; rival Sirius Satellite Radio
(SIRI) recently reached the same milestone. CEO Hugh Panero noted in a statement that the company’s growth came despite “retail softness.”...read more:
