Sirius Cash Flow Positive Along With Subs of Over 6 Million

The markets are closed, but that did not stop Sirius Satellite radio from announcing two important milestones.

Sirius announced subscribers of over 6,024,000 as well as the fact that they had a Cash Flow Positive quarter.

The 6 million subscribers comes in the middle range of the latest guidance Sirius had offered of between 5.9 million and 6.1 million. The numbers are in line with the initial 2006 guidance offered in January of 2006, and shy of the peak guidance of 6.3 million. Sirius had lowered guidance at the beginning of the month citing a weaker retail.

The bigger news comes in the form of reaching Cash Flow Positive for the quarter. This news followes a 3rd quarter in which Sirius announced narrower losses. Should positive trending continue in this sector, investors have a potential of seeing upward movement in the stock price.

NEW YORK, Jan. 2 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- SIRIUS Satellite Radio today announced that it ended 2006 with approximately 6,024,000 subscribers, an 82% increase over the company's 2005 ending subscriber base of 3,316,560. SIRIUS added a record 2.7 million net subscribers in 2006. Based on preliminary financial data, SIRIUS achieved its first ever quarter of positive free cash flow in the fourth quarter of 2006.
