Stiletto: Comments On Gizmodo Review

I don't know where Travis of Gizmodo lives, but I would recommend to him, and anyone else considering the Stiletto, that they check the repeater map before purchase. Patchy reception could frustrate even the most enthusiastic SatRad fans. Regarding bulk, the Stiletto is certainly much smaller than a brick. Regarding price: $350 is high, but I would say that the Wi-Fi feature is worth about $100 which would bring the price down to $250. Besides, this is a launch price, and is likely to be lower as the holiday season approaches.

I have great reception (obviously, the CNET reviewer does as well), even in my home. I have already recorded hundreds of complete songs while doing mundane tasks like responding to e-mail and walking to the store. At a bare minimum, since I bought my Stilletto, my gym routine has been revitalized, I now feel in touch with popular culture, I have breaking news at my fingertips, and I get stuck in traffic less frequently.

I don't blame Travis for his frustration, but perhaps he should consider moving closer to a repeater.
