SPORTSTER 3 - HOT TOPIC

August 17, 2006

Reports that the Sportster 3 have been pulled from the FCC website, while accurate, may not reflect that the unit has been rejected. When the FCC issue came to the forefront third party testing labs were no longer allowed to use the electronic system for filing test results. To gain approval now, these companies are required to file testing results directly to the FCC. The Sportster 3 that appeared on the FCC website last week according to documentation in the filing was from a third party lab. As a Sportster 3 is essentially a Sportster 4 without replay, it is reasonable to expect that the Sportster 3 will meet FCC requirements since the Sportster 4 is still shipping. As the Sportster 3 has not been released yet, it is likely the request for approval, if its even been filed under the new non-third party system, will get approved.
